About This Lesson |
This lesson covers the basics of a cover song. There is a lot of information contained in this lesson and has been provided as a resource to engage students in the comparisons of related songs. Do not feel like you should present this lesson as is - every community and school is different. Some information may be strictly review, while other information may seem irrelevant. Feel free to edit the assignment to suit your students. For your convenience, the information is separated with content breaks in purple, much like this explanation page. Students will develop their understandings around comparing and contrasting originals vs. recreations using audio and visual examples. Using a set of two examples, students will be able to identify the five main elements of music while comparing the pieces. |
